Born in Dublin Jo took up competitive swimming at an early age and swam with St Vincent de Paul swim club and moved to England in 1997

Jo eventually took up running in 2004 when encouraged by a fitness instructor to enter a local 5km run. In 2005 she ran her first marathon and began to look for bigger challenges, this was when she discovered the Marathon de Sables which she completed in 2007.

Since then Jo has competed in numerous ultra events and plans to see the world via these races.

Jo was inspired to attempt Enduroman Arch to Arc after hearing about it from her Coach, Andy Mouncey, who was the second man to complete the event and who currently holds all three stage records.

Jo currently works as a Research Scientist in UCL - Institute of Neurology
