OK so the fairly big running store I spoke to in the last few weeks is Sweatshop. They want me to do a 24hr treadmill run in one of their stores and see how far I can run. The treadmill will be in the window of their store
Nike are the other big name involved in this so will be completely kitted out in all their stuff before the event. While a 24hr treadmill run has not been in the to do list for me as yet I would be a total idiot to turn down such big names especially when they told me I was their first choice to do this. According to Mark @ Sweatshop my arch to arc run really impressed them and made me stand out as a female ultra runner.
As far as I am aware it is likely that I will be the only person doing the challenge, I know the guy at sweatshop would have liked to pit me against a guy and see who ran the furthest in a battle of the sexes treadmill run but I think he had to run it past Nike first. He had said in his original call that if it is just one runner they would want it to be me.
At the moment it looks like I will be doing this early november which works well for me as its a month after Caesars and a month before Beacons.. I'm pretty excited about this, it's not often you have such big names interested in getting you to one of their events.
Fingers crossed this all pans out. Hopefully it should as Mark seemed pretty excited himself when I agreed to doing it.
I should know the date and venue soon so will let you know when I know

24hrs on a treadmill? Yes I think that will test me enough somehow. 24hrs running and not actually getting anyway. Still, at least I won't get lost!

Think you may have slightly bigger feet than me Danny boy so tough luck on the trainer front. Maybe you would like a nice small ladies running top that wouldn't look stange at all on you : )
